The role of the Trustee is one of governance.
Prepare and participate effectively in Board governance by understanding policies, agendas, reports, and educational issues, and contributing to informed decision-making.
Uphold Board policies, ethics, and decisions by adhering to the Trustee Code of Ethics, supporting Board decisions, and ensuring delegated responsibilities are carried out appropriately.
Serve as a communication link between the community, schools, and the Board by directing concerns through appropriate channels, informing leadership of significant issues, and acting as a liaison to assigned schools.
Support the Superintendent and Board leadership by providing advice, sharing relevant information in a timely manner, and helping monitor the implementation of Board decisions.
Demonstrate ongoing commitment to the district through regular attendance at meetings and events, participation in professional development, fostering a positive culture, and maintaining communication during extended absences.
